N.C. State unveiled gray uniforms on Thursday to be worn later in the season on Military Appreciation Day.

Thankfully, the alternate gray uniforms do not include a cummerbund like last year’s basketball version for the postseason.

The Wolfpack will wear gray jerseys, with white numbers and red lettering. The helmets are a gray camouflage with red block letter “S” logo.

N.C. State will break out the alternate jerseys, the first time wearing gray in football, for its home game with Syracuse on Nov. 21, which is when the school will honor the armed forces.

N.C. State had been one of the last ACC schools to break from tradition and wear alternate uniforms. The Wolfpack debuted black jerseys, with black helmets, last season.

The basketball team has worn black more frequently under coach Mark Gottfried and had gray uniforms with a wide red cummerbund for the ACC and NCAA tournaments last March.
