Moxley to take on new Pack basketball job
Rob Moxley, who has spent the last five seasons as an assistant coach for the N.C. State basketball team, will assume the role of Director of Men's Basketball Player Personnel at the end of the season, Wolfpack coach Mark Gottfried announced Sunday.
"Rob has been a valuable part of our coaching staff for the last five seasons, and I am excited he has agreed to fill our Director of Player Personnel role moving forward," Gottfried said in a statement. "This position has become an important one for our program's overall success, and I am confident Rob's skill set and coaching experience will continue to be a strength for us as he helps us find new ways to improve our team in all areas."
In his new role, Moxley will serve as a mentor for men's basketball student-athletes, assist in personnel development and on-campus recruiting activities, as well as focus on a variety of administrative duties to assist the NC State men's basketball program.
"During the last five years we have worked hard to reestablish NC State Men's Basketball on the national stage, and I look forward to continuing help our program achieve all of our goals in my new position," said Moxley.
The position was held previously by Dereck Whittenburg, who was promoted to Associate Athletics Director for Community Relations and Student Support.
