Want to watch the UNC-Wake Forest college football game on TV? Here’s how to find it.
When North Carolina faces No. 10 Wake Forest on Saturday, it will mark the first time since 1943 it has faced back-to-back teams ranked this high. The Tar Heels (4-4) lost to then-No. 11 Notre Dame last week 44-34. Their battle with the Demon Deacons (8-0) in Kenan Stadium figures to be another high-scoring game too.
The game won’t, however, count in the ACC standings, just like Carolina’s 59-53 win at home over Wake last season, and its 24-18 loss in Winston-Salem in 2019. The non-conference meetings were arranged as a buffer for the long-time rivals that are only scheduled to play once every seven years while in separate divisions in the league. When UNC travels to Wake next season, it will be a conference game for the first time since 2015.
Neither defense is expected to dominate, but the game might be decided by which defense can make the most plays. So far this season, that has been Wake’s modus operandi.
“Their defense, unlike ours, they forced a lot of turnovers and that’s been a huge difference for them,” UNC coach Mack Brown said. “They’re plus-10 (in turnover margin) we’re minus-1. And that’s the biggest difference in these two teams.”
Saturday’s UNC-Wake Forest game will be broadcast on ABC.
