For the 127th time, Virginia and North Carolina will meet on the football field Saturday.

Dubbed the South’s Oldest Rivalry, it will play a big role in whether UNC wins the race for the final ACC Coastal Division championship before the league eliminates its divisional alignment next season.

No. 17 UNC (7-1, 4-0 ACC) is two games in front of second-place teams Duke (5-3, 2-2) and Miami (4-4, 2-2) in the Coastal Division standings. The Tar Heels also hold tiebreakers over both teams due to head-to-head wins over the Blue Devils and Hurricanes.

A UNC win over Virginia would move the Tar Heels a step closer to what seems like an inevitable matchup with No. 5 Clemson in the Dec. 3 ACC championship game at Charlotte.
