How to watch or stream UNC vs College of Charleston college basketball game on Friday night
No. 1 North Carolina looks to have a much improved offensive game against the College of Charleston on Friday after looking sluggish in its 69-56 win over UNC Wilmington in Monday’s season opener.
It was the fewest points scored by the Tar Heels (1-0) in a season opener since a 67-55 win over Michigan State on Nov. 11, 2011 on the U.S.S. Carl Vinson aircraft carrier. It was the fewest points scored in a home opener since a 77-69 loss to Hampton on Nov. 16, 2001.
What will help is the Cougars’ (1-0) desire to play fast. According to Ken Pomeroy, C of C plays at the eighth fastest tempo in the nation. Charleston defeated Chattanooga 85-78 in its opener on Monday.
Carolina shot just 2-for-10 from 3-point range in the opener and scored just four points on fast breaks. The Heels will need to improve in both of those categories on Friday to feel more like normal.
