The rivalry between Duke and North Carolina has driven ticket prices into premium territory for the women’s soccer teams’ NCAA College Cup semifinal clash Friday at 7:30 p.m.

Resale prices on Ticketmaster start at $175, not including fees, reflecting intense demand for the game at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary.

The matchup, featuring the powerhouse programs who have already played each other three times this fall, has heightened stakes with a national championship berth on the line.

“That’s unbelievable (and) I sit here with mixed emotions,” former North Carolina coach Anson Dorrance said. “A part of me is excited because if we can start to get that sort of ticket price, then our game is going to go through the roof. And by the same token, if that ticket price prevents us from selling out the facility, that disappoints me.”
