What is Jordon Hudson’s role at UNC? Bill Belichick CBS interview adds confusion
New North Carolina football coach Bill Belichick sat down for an interview with CBS Sunday Morning to discuss his new book. The 7-minute interview went viral — not for something Belichick said, but for what he was told not to say, and by whom.
Jordon Hudson, Belichick’s 24-year-old girlfriend, said off camera, “We’re not talking about this,” when the coach, 73, was asked how the two met. He did not have a chance to answer. The original video posted by CBS, not the recordings uploaded by other social media users, has nearly 2 million views in a little more than a day.
Hudson reportedly interrupted multiple times, according to Pro Football Talk, a subsidiary of NBC Sports.
“It wasn’t, we’re told, the only time she interjected,” the report said. “While we don’t know the total number of interruptions, it’s our understanding that CBS decided to include that one specific instance because it wasn’t a one-time thing.”
The interview features one brief mention of Belichick’s current job with the Tar Heels.
Since Belichick was hired in December, he’s faced questions and criticism about his relationship and Hudson’s role. She was spotted putting a microphone on Belichick ahead of Carolina’s “Practice Like a Pro” open spring practice. Hudson made appearances at multiple men’s basketball games alongside Belichick. Videos of those interactions also went viral.
The couple also appeared last week at a Carolina Hurricanes playoff game at Lenovo Center. When shown on the big screen, the capacity crowd in the traditionally pro-N.C. State building let out a chorus of boos.
Questions still surround Hudson’s role — she’s not employed by the university — but here is what we know about the First Lady of UNC football:
Is Jordon Hudson employed by UNC?
No. Hudson is not an employee of the University of North Carolina as an individual, nor is she a contracted vendor, a spokesperson for UNC told the News & Observer on Monday. She does not show up in the state employee database.
The UNC athletic department has four employees who serve as official communications contacts with the authority to speak on behalf of the football program.
Despite not being employed by the school, Hudson’s public actions have seemingly portrayed her as an unofficial communications and administrative assistant for Belichick.
Belichick requested in December for Hudson to be copied on all emails sent to him, the Assembly reported.
“I am including Jordon on this email so she can also keep up with our postings,” Belichick wrote. “Can you include her on anything you send to me?”
The Athletic analyzed 44 pages of emails with Hudson, most of which featured limited involvement with the program. Some, though, included instructions on how the program should handle the announcements of Belichick hiring his sons as assistant coaches, and negative comments on social media.
Hudson was present at the Tar Heels’ first spring practice, which was open to the media, and the subsequent press conference.
In his interview with CBS, Belichick said he joined social media sites, including Instagram, but it appears he does not run them.
“I’m on some of those social media platforms, but I honestly don’t follow them,” Belichick said.
What is Hudson’s job?
Hudson’s LinkedIn lists her as the founder and CEO of Trouble Cub Enterprises, confirmed by the Massachusetts Corporation database. The company is described as a “holding company for a complex portfolio of businesses across a wide range of industries including cosmetics, real estate, media production, merchandising, creative consultation, business strategy and investment.” She is reportedly hiring a media assistant and administrative assistant.
Hudson’s profile also lists her as the Chief Operating Officer of Belichick Productions from August 2024-February 2025.
Belichick signed a document with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office applying for the protection of 14 phrases, including “Chapel Bill.” The company listed on the trademark applications was TCE Rights Management, a new company created on March 28. Hudson is listed as its manager in the Massachusetts Corporation Database.
The database also lists Hudson as the manager of Chapel Bill LLC, BBS Version LLC, All BB Team LLC and Coach Show LLC. All were formed within the past five months, with BBS Version being approved as a business on March 20.
She worked for one year as a social media brand ambassador for Rebel Athletic and worked as a henna artist, according to her LinkedIn.
She does not have any other listed experience in sports or communications.
How involved is Hudson at UNC?
Hudson’s visible involvement with Belichick’s job at UNC thus far exceeds that of other coaches’ significant others.
Hudson has posted photos at Carolina events, on the field at the practice center, and in official portraits.
Former UNC head coach Mack Brown often mentioned his wife, Sally, in press conferences and she would attend events with the program. Sally Brown, however, often stayed out of the spotlight.
N.C. State coach Dave Doeren’s wife, Sara, and Duke coach Manny Diaz’s wife, Stephanie, also often appear at their husbands’ public events. While they also foster relationships with players and their families, they remain uninvolved with on-field and administrative decisions in their husband’s program.
Doeren and Diaz are parents to three sons each, all under the age of 26. Belichick’s three children are 37 years old or older. Both of his sons are on staff at UNC.
Who is Jordon Hudson?
Hudson, 24, is from Hancock, Maine. She graduated from Bridgewater State University in Bridgewater, Massachusetts, in 2022, with a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy, and was a cheerleader for the school.
According to her LinkedIn, Hudson also attended cosmetology school in Maine from 2018-19. She was crowned Miss Hancock USA last year and will participate in the Miss Maine USA pageant, as part of the Miss USA organization, May 10-11 in Portland, Maine.
How did Hudson and Belichick meet?
Hudson did not want Belichick to discuss this topic in his conversation with CBS. TMZ first reported the couple met on a flight from Massachusetts to Florida, and Belichick noticed her reading “Deductive Logic” by Harvard professor Warren Goldfarb. The two reportedly shared contact information after their meeting.
Hudson posted a video on Instagram in February about their four-year “meetiversary.” She showed the book, which Belichick signed, and seemed to confirm the original report. The post was not saved to her feed or on her story highlights.
Though the two refused to comment on how they met, Hudson has not been private about their relationship and posts about Belichick regularly.
How long have Hudson and Belichick been in a relationship?
Belichick and Hudson, then 23, made their first high-profile appearance together on Dec. 5, 2024, at The Museum Gala at New York City’s American Museum of Natural History.
Belichick was formally introduced as the North Carolina head football coach at Kenan Football Stadium in Chapel Hill on Dec. 12.
But the couple had been spotted before then, including at a Notre Dame-Navy football game in November 2024.
Former New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski made a joke about Belichick’s younger partner in May 2024, during a Netflix special, “The Roast of Tom Brady.”
Page Six reported him being seen with a woman matching Hudson’s description in late 2023, and again in March 2024.
