It’s not quite Hard Knocks, but turns out Bill Belichick and UNC Football will be the subject of a docuseries after all.

North Carolina football announced Sunday on its social media channels that a season-long documentary series following Belichick and the Tar Heels is in the works and will stream on Disney-owned Hulu this fall. Front Office Sports reported last month that Belichick and UNC were nearing a final deal with Hulu.

“I know that you guys heard there was a lot of interest in doing a, let’s call it, season-long documentary or season-long show about North Carolina football,” Belichick told his team in the video. “I’m excited to share with you that we will be doing that.”

The project will be produced by EverWonder Studio, Belichick confirmed in the post. He emphasized in his announcement to the players that the show will focus on the team as a whole.

“This is about the UNC football program,” Belichick said in the video. “There’s obviously a lot of interest in it… it’s going to feature the players working hard, like you guys do. It’s about the players improving.”

That said, Belichick will undoubtedly be a main feature of the show as the eight-time Super Bowl champion navigates the college game.

This news comes after The Athletic’s report in April that plans for HBO’s “Hard Knocks” miniseries — a done deal per NFL insiders, with a press release drafted and promotional materials prepared — fell apart in March after lengthy negotiations between NFL Films and the university. Belichick withdrew at the last minute because NFL Films would not allow his girlfriend, Jordon Hudson, to be involved as a producer, the Athletic reported.

Hudson’s Instagram post Saturday night, which was a photo taken by The News & Observer’s Ethan Hyman, hinted at the Hulu project. The photo depicted her blowing a kiss to Belichick, set to Taylor Swift’s song “Look What You Made Me Do.” Hudson originally posted the photo with no caption, but updated it on Sunday afternoon following the announcement, and tagged EverWonder Studio, Hulu and Disney Plus.

Front Office Sports also reported Hudson posted a video showing cameras at Tar Heel football practice before deleting it. It is unclear at this point what, if any, role Hudson will have with the Hulu project.

UNC opens its season Sept. 1 against TCU in a primetime ESPN game set for 8 p.m. at Kenan Stadium in Chapel Hill.
