Observations
Don’t sleep on the Terriers. Wofford, which won 28 games a season ago and lost by three points against Arkansas in the first round of the NCAA tournament, was picked to finish second in the Southern Conference despite the loss of two of its best players from last season. Wofford enters the Smith Center after opening the season with a 9-point loss at Missouri. Wofford is a more formidable opponent than Fairfield, which was competitive on Sunday before the Tar Heels pulled away for a 92-65 victory. UNC coach Roy Williams will undoubtedly want to see his team play a more complete, clean game than it did Sunday, when it struggled at the free throw line and was out-hustled in the first half.
