Observations
This is not the same Northern Iowa team that finished 31-4 a season ago. Three starters are gone, though Matt Bohannon and Jeremy Morgan, the team’s leading scorers through two games, are back. The Tar Heels will have a significant size advantage but Northern Iowa will be able to spread the floor and create match-up challenges of its own with smaller, quicker players. UNC coach Roy Williams liked his team’s intensity in a victory against Wofford on Wednesday night, though the Tar Heels still didn’t pull away until the final 10 minutes. In three games, UNC has yet to put together a complete game, though the Tar Heels won all three comfortably.
