Greg Milhouse Jr., a former standout defensive tackle at Campbell during the 2014 and 2015 seasons, has signed a contract with the Seattle Seahawks, the school announced Wednesday.
This will be his second attempt to secure a spot on an NFL roster. Milhouse, who graduated from Garner Magnet High School in 2012, signed a contract with the New York Giants in 2016 and played through the preseason. However, he was cut before the regular season.
The 6-3, 295-pound defensive lineman then went on to play for the Saskatchewan Roughriders in the Canadian Football League.
Milhouse is one of only two Campbell players to sign an NFL contract.
At Garner High he helped lead his team to the NCHSAA 4A state championship game in 2011.
At Campbell he finished his career in the top 10 in Campbell’s all-time sacks and tackles for loss lists after two seasons at the school. He transferred from Appalachian State in 2014.
Milhouse helped the Camels rank fifth in the nation in total defense in 2015.
Before he signed with the Seahawks, he was an assistant coach at Garner High.
