Duke heads regional lineup for 2K Classic for Wounded Warrior Project

The Regional Round schedule for the 21st annual 2K Classic benefiting Wounded Warrior Project (@2KClassic) has been finalized.

The field is highlighted by National Champion Duke, national runner-up Wisconsin, and NCAA Tournament participants Georgetown and VCU. These four teams combined for a 119-29 record this past season and have 104 NCAA Tournament appearances, including 25 Final Fours, between them. Each of these teams will host a pair of Regional Round games, in addition to playing at Madison Square Garden in the Championship Rounds on Nov. 20 and 22. The Championship Round match-ups will be announced in in August.


Wake Forest: Outfielder Stuart Fairchild was named a Baseball America Second Team Freshman All-American.

Track and field

Saint Aug’s: The school is a finalist in five of six HBCU Digest Awards, including George Williams and Rachel Bullard for coach of the year.

Men’s Lacrosse

Duke: Nine members of the team were selected to the All-ACC Academic Team, the most of any of the five teams represented.

Deemer Class picked up his third straight award, Will Haus earned his second; Brian Dailey, Brian Dunne, Justin Guterding, Kyle Rowe, Tanner Scott, Ian Yanulis and Thomas Zenker all were recognized for the first time.


Duke: The team will have 30 regular season matches, including 11 against 2014 NCAA Tournament teams.


Campbell: Eight wrestlers earned a place on the Southern Conference Honor Roll.

Grant Blumenthal, Logan Dean, Nathan Kraisser, Daniel Luty, Matthew Olauson, Daniel Richardson, Cody Ryba and John Weiss all compiled GPAs of 3.0 or higher to claim honor roll status. Blumenthal, Dean, Richardson and Ryba each had a GPA of 3.5 to earn SoCon Commissioner’s medals.

women’s Lacrosse

Duke: Senior midfielder Taylor Trimble received her fourth All-ACC women’s Lacrosse Academic Team honor.
