UNC QB Marquise Williams on watch list for Maxwell Award
North Carolina senior quarterback Marquise Williams is on the watch list for the 79th annual Maxwell Award, the Maxwell Football Club announced.
Williams set 18 school records in 2014, including the UNC single-season record for total yards of offense (3,856), most plays (621), most touchdowns responsible for (34), most rushing yards by a quarterback (788) and most rushing touchdowns by a quarterback (13).
NC State: Senior quarterback Jacoby Brissett was named to the Maxwell watch list, and senior defensive end Mike Rose was named to the Chuck Bednarik watch list for defensive player of the year.
ECU: Senior inside linebacker Zeek Bigger is on the Chuck Bednarik Award watch list.
Duke: Kelby Brown and redshirt senior safety Jeremy Cash are on the Chuck Bednarik Award watch list.
Women’s Golf
Duke: Senior Celine Boutier will compete in the U.S. Women’s Open July 9-12 in Lancaster, Pa.
ECU: The golfing trio of Katie Kirk, Lisa Pettersson and Nicoline Engstroem Skaug have been named 2014-15 Division I All-America Scholars, according to an announcement by the Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA).
Elon: Juniors Emily Brooks and Sunna Vidisdottir and freshman Hilda Kristjansdottir were named WGCA All-American Scholars.. Both Brooks and Vidisdottir are three-time selections.
Mount Olive: Julie Loennechen was named a WGCA All-American Scholar.
