Duke’s Jeremy Cash, DeVon Edwards on Walter Camp watch list
Duke Redshirt senior safety Jeremy Cash and redshirt junior safety DeVon Edwards have been named to the Watch List for Walter Camp Award, an honor presented annually to the national player of the year by the Walter Camp Foundation.
Cash has helped the Blue Devils to 19 wins and a pair of bowl game berths over the past two seasons.
Women’s Basketball
Wake Forest: Dearica Hamby was one of 12 players selected in the Korean WKBL draft this week. Hamby chosen by the KB Stars, was the ninth player selected in WKBL foreigner draft.
Men’s Basketball
NC State: Nine home games at PNC Arena, including the ACC/Big Ten Challenge, and an early season tournament that includes two contests at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y., highlight the nonconference schedule.
Track And Field
St. Augustine: Seven scholar-athletes were named to the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association All-Academic Track & Field Teams.
UNC placed nine women and two men and Duke placed 10 women and three men.
The UNC women's team as a whole also earned the USTFCCCA All-Academic team honor.
