Duke women’s volleyball earns Team Academic Award

For the ninth straight year, the Duke women’s volleyball team received the American Volleyball Coaches Association Team Academic Award for the 2014-15 academic year.

The Blue Devils have earned the academic recognition every year since the 2006-07 campaign and 11 times over the past 12 seasons. In addition, Duke was one of three ACC schools to earn the honor, joining Virginia Tech and Wake Forest.

The award goes to programs that maintain a 3.30 grade point average.

Track & Field

UNC: Kenny Selmon (400m hurdles) and Hannah Christen (3,000m steeplechase) took home silver medals from the Pan American Junior Athletics Championships. Caroline Alcorta (5,000m) finished with a bronze.

Football

N.C. Central: Eight players were named to the 2015 Preseason All-MEAC Football Teams during the MEAC Press Luncheon in Norfolk, Va.
