The Duke football team will attend Thursday night’s NFL preseason game between the Detroit Lions and Washington Redskins at FedExField in Hyattsville, Md. Kickoff is 7:30 p.m.
Prior to returning to Durham on Friday, the squad will visit a pair of historical monuments.
Three former Duke lettermen who finished their collegiate careers this past season are on the rosters of the Lions and Redskins. Offensive guard Laken Tomlinson was Detroit’s first round pick – the 28th overall selection – in the 2015 NFL Draft, and wide receiver Jamison Crowder was chosen in the fourth round by Washington. In addition, offensive tackle Takoby Cofield signed with the Redskins as a free agent last spring.
