N.C. Central football classic aims to raise diabetes awareness

The matchup between North Carolina Central University and Saint Augustine’s on Saturday is more significant than simply the start of another college football season.

The event, tagged as the Sixth Annual Prince Hall Shriners Diabetes Football Classic, was established by the Prince Hall Shriners Foundation as a way to raise awareness of diabetes.

On Thursday, information sessions will be held for N.C. Central students, faculty and staff and the community in the Alfonso Elder Student Union.

The Zafa Temple No. 176 will be conducting a canned food drive to benefit the Food Bank of North Carolina. Fans attending the game are encouraged to bring non-perishable items to any of the stadium entrances on game day.
