Field Hockey
No. 4 Duke: The Blue Devils open ACC play at home Friday, welcoming 12th-ranked Wake Forest to Jack Katz Stadium. Nonconference opponent William & Mary visits Durham Sunday.
Football
St. Augustine: The University will host a pep rally for the football and women’s volleyball teams at the Martin Luther King Jr. Mall Area on campus at noon Friday. The public is invited to attend. The football team host Virginia Union in a nonconference football game between CIAA teams at John H. Baker Stadium on Saturday at 1 p.m.
Golf
Campbell: After winning her first collegiate title, Nadine White was named Big South women’s golfer of the week. Ray Kraivixien was named Big South men’s freshman of the week.
Men’s Soccer
Duke: The Blue Devils, who are off to a 4-0 start to the season, will opens ACC play Friday night against reigning NCAA champion Virginia at 7 p.m. on ESPN3.
ECU: The team will return home after a string of four-straight road matches to take on Western Carolina on Friday. Opening kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Johnson Soccer Stadium.
Campbell: The team will compete in the Belmont Invitational in Nashville, Tenn., this weekend, facing Lipscomb on Friday at 4:30 p.m. and Belmont at 3:30 p.m. Sunday.
Appalachian State rounds out the four-team field but is not slated to face the Camels.
Women’s Soccer
No. 15 Duke: The Blue Devils (4-1-1) will hit the road for two contests this weekend at Samford (4-2) on Friday and at LSU (4-0-2) Sunday.
Tennis
N.C. State: The Wolfpack will host its first tournament of the fall season, welcoming Mississippi State, Virginia Tech and Georgia State. The three-day Wolfpack Invitational begins Friday at 9 a.m.
Volleyball
N.C. State: The Wolfpack will return to action this weekend at the Sugar Bowl Collegiate Classic in New Orleans. N.C. State takes on Nicholls State on Friday at 3 p.m. and host Tulane at 12:30 p.m. Saturday followed by Incarnate Word at 5:30 p.m.
Duke: After two consecutive weekends on the road to open the season, Duke (4-2) begins the home portion of its schedule this weekend at Cameron Indoor Stadium, hosting Stanford (3-1) on Friday at 6:30 p.m., before welcoming the UNC Wilmington (5-1) on Saturday at 3 p.m.
