Duke field hockey gets shutout vs. Longwood
DURHAM The Duke field hockey team tallied three goals inside the first 10 minutes to set the tone in a 7-0 shutout of Longwood Sunday at Williams Field at Jack Katz Stadium. Sophomore back Alyssa Chillano turned in the first hat trick of her career and four other Duke players added scores.
Volleyball
Duke: Middle blockers Leah Meyer and Jordan Tucker combined for 27 kills and 13 blocks to help the Blue Devils turn a 2-1 deficit into a 3-2 (25-12, 26-28, 16-25, 25-20, 15-12) comeback victory over N.C. State.
NCCU: Freshman Bree Simmons served up three of the team’s 10 aces in a 3-0 MEAC win over Savannah State.
Football
Campbell: Ugonna Awuruonye tied a Campbell record with 3.0 sacks, adding 10 tackles in a win over Drake, and has been named the Pioneer Football League’s Defensive Player of the Week.
Women’s soccer
Duke: The 22nd-ranked team gave up four tallies to seventh-ranked Virginia Tech and dropped a 4-2 ACC matchup at Koskinen Stadium in Durham.
