Fla. State soccer tops UNC women 1-0
TALLAHASSEE, FLA. A late goal by Florida State’s Berglind Thorvaldsdottir was the difference Sunday as the second-ranked Seminoles defeated top-ranked North Carolina in women’s soccer at the Seminole Soccer Complex. With the 1-0 victory, the Seminoles retain the top spot in the ACC at 5-0-1 while the Tar Heels fall to 4-2-0 in ACC play.
Duke: The team battled to a double-overtime scoreless draw with Louisville.
NC State: The team fell 3-2 in double overtime to Miami.
Wake Forest: The team fell 1-0 to No. 3 Virginia.
Volleyball
Duke: The team lost 3-2 to visiting Miami .
NCCU: The team lost 3-0 to Bethune-Cookman.
Field Hockey
Duke: Junior forward Heather Morris tipped in a pass from senior Amanda Kim 13 minutes into overtime to lift the fourth-ranked Blue Devils to a 1-0 decision over No. 17 Boston University
Golf
Duke: The team won the Tar Heel Invitational, with rounds of 285, 293 and 289 for a total of 867 at Finley Golf Course in Chapel Hill.
Rowing
UNC: The team swept the top spots in both the varsity and novice eight races at the Occoquan Chase in Occoquan, Va.
Men’s Cross Country
St. Aug: Immanuel Hutchinson won the men’s 8K race in the Livingstone College Cross Country Invitational.
Tennis
UNC: The men’s doubles team of Brett Clark and Robert Kelly defeated a duo from Florida in Tulsa, Okla., to reach the finals of the 2015 ITA All-American Tennis Championship.
