Listen to HBCU Voice Episode 4: A News & Observer sports podcast

Stillman College, a private Historically Black College University, recently dropped all of its athletic programs except men’s and women’s basketball.

We ask the question, is this the future for other HBCUs?

We also discuss who we think will win the Celebration Bowl Saturday in the Georgia Dome between N.C. A&T and Alcorn State?

And finally there were reports last week that N.C. Central coach Jerry Mack could potentially be in discussions with Jackson State for their head coaching gig. Eventually after we recorded this, Jackson State found their head coach. We asked ourselves would that be a lateral move, moving from one HBCU to another.
