Heels Chad Scott hired as football assistant

Alumnus Chad Scott (UNC ’04) was hired as the Tar Heels’ tight ends/hybrids coach, head coach Larry Fedora announced Friday.

Scott returns to Chapel Hill after coaching most recently at Kentucky, where he tutored running backs from 2013-15 and was the run game coordinator in 2014-15. He helped develop a solid Wildcat running attack that featured Stanley “Boom” Williams, who rushed for 7.1 yards per carry, and Jojo Kemp, who gained 5.7 per attempt.

Track and Field

Duke: Madison Granger is one of three student-athlete representatives who will hold voting power on proposed NCAA rule changes under the Division I autonomy process. She will participate as a member of the ACC Autonomy Committee, be invited to attend various ACC governance meetings and participate as a member of the voting delegation at the 2017 NCAA Convention.

Baseball

Raleigh Sports Club: Carl Lancaster, legendary baseball coach at Mount Olive will be the special guest speaker Wednesday at the Raleigh Sports Club.

Meetings are held in Bradley Hall in Highland United Methodist Church, 1901 Ridge Road at the intersection with Lake Boone Trail. Doors open at 10:50 a.m. Fee is $15 for members and $25 for guests.
