HBCU Voice: Was PVAMU’s women’s b-ball coach wrong to suspend her players for dating each other?

AP

About two weeks ago, Prairie View A&M fired its women’s basketball coach after two players accused her of a Title IX violation. Dawn Brown suspended two of her players for being in a relationship together.

Prior to the season, Dawn Brown implemented a rule with the team that no players or coaches could be involved with each other, a year after one of her assistant coaches was fired for having an inappropriate relationship with a player.

Brown told USA Today that she approved it with the school’s Title IX coordinator.

The panelists discuss whether it was wrong for Prairie View to fire Brown, and whether we thought it was right for the coach to implement the rule that players and coaches could not date one another.
