Wake Forest junior Will Craig received his second honor of the day when he was named to the Golden Spikes Award midseason watch list by USA Baseball on Wednesday afternoon.

The award is given to the top amateur baseball player in the country. Sixty of the nation’s top players from the high school and college ranks were selected to the watch list. Craig is one of 18 previously identified on the preseason list.

Craig is on the watch list for a second straight season.

In the ACC, Craig leads the way in hitting (.435), slugging (.861) and RBIs (47), also ranking second in homers (11) and on-base percentage (.556).

He also has a 1-0 record and 1.80 ERA to go along with five saves, tied for the team-high. Opponents are hitting just .189 against him.

The ACC has 13 representatives on the watch list, second to only the SEC (14). Semifinalists for the award will be announced June 1, and finalists will be picked June 13.
