Raleigh native Chesson Hadley has been named the 2017 Web.com Tour player of the year, it was announced Wednesday.

Hadley, 30, won twice on the Web.com Tour this past and nearly added a third title at the Rex Hospital Open in his hometown, losing in a playoff at TPC-Wakefield Plantation.

Hadley was the first player in the five-year history of the Web.com Tour Finals to win The 25 combined money list as well as The Finals 25. He earned $562,475, the third-highest total in Web.com Tour history.

Hadley, a former Georgia Tech All-America, has returned to the PGA Tour for the 2017-18 campaign. He already has three top-10 finishes and $1,105,067 in earnings.

Hadley was the 2014 PGA Tour rookie of the year but had to return to the Web.com Tour this year to regain playing rights on the PGA Tour.
