Orange football shuts out Northern Vance 14-0, moves to 8-0

Sophomore Morgan Paschall rushed for a career-high 100 yards and a touchdown on 11 carries as Orange defeated Northern Vance 14-0 on Thursday night.

In a penalty-filled contest that was scoreless at halftime, the Panthers, playing their second game in four days, broke the stalemate when wide receiver Cody Evans scored on a 20-yard reverse around left end for his first rushing touchdown with 2:21 remaining in the third quarter.

On the next Panthers possession, Marvante Beasley ran for 33 yards, and Paschall opened the fourth quarter with a 35-yard touchdown run. The Panthers (8-0, 3-0 Big 8 3A) outgained the Vikings (4-4, 1-2) 359-50.

Beasley also finished with 100 yards rushing, his second 100-yard game this year.

It was the sixth time this year the Orange defense held an opponent to under 100 yards total offense. The Vikings were held to four first downs, none in the second half.
