Heritage’s girls soccer team scored twice in the last 12 minutes to break open a scoreless contest and take a 2-0 win at rival Wake Forest on Wednesday.

Michaella Arteta and Katie Quinn had the Heritage goals and Kayla Cook had the assist.

The win was the fourth in a row by Heritage (6-3, 3-1) and one of the most important in recent history against its crosstown Cap-8 Conference foe.

Wake Forest (4-3, 0-3) has a deceiving record. The Cougars are much-improved from last year. In addition to the late loss to Heritage, Wake Forest has lost in overtime against undefeated Wakefield and last year’s co-conference champ Millbrook (whose only loss is to Wakefield).
