Due to coronavirus pandemic, the North Carolina Coaches Association Board of Directors announced Thursday it was canceling the East-West All-Star Games and Coaches clinic.

It was a unanimous decision by the board.

The soccer, basketball and football games are the highlights of the week during the clinic.

Because of uncertainty with the spread of COVID-19, government regulations and the loss of normal physical conditioning, the board thought it was best not to jeopardize the health of the coaches, players and staff.

The East-West All-Star games and clinics are held in July in Greensboro. A decision had to be made before June 26 to fulfillment contractual agreements. The clinics and basketball games are held at the Greensboro Coliseum. The football game is played at Grimsley High School. The soccer games are played at McPherson Stadium at Bryan Park.

Players selected to play in the games can contact the NCCA office next June if they want to come to the 2021 games to be recognized at halftime. The coaches clinic will be a series of video sessions that will be posted on the NCCA website.
