Cleveland’s Nick Imarah, Athens Drive’s Krister Sjoblad win N&O football, athlete of week
After a week of heavy voting, the News & Observer is announcing the winners of its high school athlete and football player of the week of Nov. 12.
Krister Sjoblad, Athens Drive Cross Country: The Jaguars’ junior ran a 15:52.02 to finish seventh at the 4A state championship meet at Ivey Redmon Sports Complex in Kernersville Nov. 6.
Sjoblad ran a personal-best 15:43.56 to win the 4A East Regional earlier this season.
Nick Imarah, Cleveland: 18 tackles, sack and a fumble recovery in a 56-14 win over Chapel Hill Nov. 5.
