Cary Christian swimmer Griffin Van Vooren is N&O boys Triangle athlete of the week
The News & Observer’s boys athlete of the week is Cary Christian swimmer Griffin Van Vooren.
The Knights’ senior won all four events he competed to lead his Cary Christian team to an Eastern Plains’ Independent Conference (EPIC) title in Kinston Feb. 3.
Van Vooren won the 50 freestyle (24.07), the 100 freestyle (54.18), while helped both the 200 freestyle relay (1:36.21) and 400 freestyle relay (3:38.37) to conference championships.
