West Johnston’s Caleb Gilmore is News & Observer boys athlete of the week in the Triangle
The News & Observer’s boys athlete of the week in the Triangle is West Johnston’s Caleb Gilmore.
A 6-foot-3 junior on the basketball team, Gilmore scored 12 points, including the game-winning shot with three seconds left to lead West Johnston to a 56-53 win over South Johnston Feb. 11.
Gilmore also had 11 points in a 78-57 loss to Hunt Feb. 8.
Gilmore is averaging 14 points per game for West Johnston.
