Voyager Academy’s Daniel Higdon, Apex Friendship’s Izzy Logan are N&O athletes of the week.
Voyager Academy baseball pitcher Daniel Higdon and Apex Friendship soccer star Izzy Logan are the News & Observer’s high school athletes of the week.
▪ Higdon, a junior, struck out six batters in four innings, while allowing just one hit and getting one hit and a RBI at the plate in a 6-0 win at Vance Charter March 15.
He also went 2-for-3 with a run, a walk and a RBI in 5-1 victory over Franklin Academy March 17.
The next day, Higdon was 3-for-3 with a run scored in an 8-2 win over Vance Charter.
▪ Logan, a junior center midfielder, scored the go-ahead goal in a 3-1 win at Panther Creek March 14.
She also had an assist in a 7-2 victory at Apex March 16.
Logan also scored the game-winning goal with 20 seconds left in 2-1 win at Cardinal Gibbons March 17.
