Apex Friendship softball player Cheyenne Christman is the News & Observer girls athlete of the week.
The Patriots’ freshman hit two home runs, while tossing a complete-game two hitter. She had 10 strikeouts to lead Apex Friendship to a 10-0 win at Apex March 25.
Christman also had nine strikeouts in 5.2 innings of work in a 9-7 loss at Panther Creek.
Christman is hitting .500 with an 0.85 ERA.
