Four new No. 1 teams headline major shakeup in NC statewide baseball polls

There are 17 newly ranked teams in the N.C. statewide high school baseball polls this week.

There are also four new No. 1 teams in the nine polls.

The rankings, sponsored by The Charlotte Observer and the News & Observer of Raleigh, are compiled by longtime N.C. baseball expert Tripp Roakes.

This week, nearly half the polls have a change up top: In 4A, 12-0 West Stanly moves to No. 1. In 6A, Alexander Central (12-1) moved up two spots to No. 1. In 7A, Greenville’s DH Conley High (11-1) moved up one spot to No. 1. And in the private school poll, Charlotte Christian (11-3) took over the top spot after previous No. 1 Metrolina Christian lost to 7A No. 5 Marvin Ridge last week.
