N&O boys track and field preview: Hillside returns two champions
Hillside was second in the N.C. High School Athletic Association 4A boys track and field championships last season, thanks to state titles by Desmond Jackson, who competes in the ambulatory division, and McKinly Brown.
Marcus Krah, who won three indoor titles earlier this month, is also back for the Hornets. The Triangle’s three wheelchair champinos – Dylan Pinder, Antoine Perry and Omar Sanchez – all return.
Bunn was second in the 2A title, Research Triangle tied for third in 1A and Cardinal Gibbons was fourth in 3A. Southeast Raleigh was third in 4A.

Terrell Adams, Sr., Middle Creek: Won 4A discus, fourth in shot put.
McKinly Brown, Sr., Hillside: Won 4A 300 hurdles and fourth in 110 hurdles.
Magnus Herweyer, Sr. Carrboro: Won 2A shot and discus titles.
Desmond Jackson, Jr., Hillside: Won ambulatory titles in 100, 200, 400 and long jump.
Daniel Ligons, Sr., Holly Springs: Won 4A shot put.
Antoine Perry, Jr. Franklinton: Won 2A wheelchair 400.
Christian Pigues, Jr., Trinity Academy Raleigh: Won NCISAA 1A/2A 800 and 1,600.
Dylan Pinder, Jr., North Johnston: 100, 200, shot and discus 1A wheelchair titles.
Omar Sanchez, Jr., Broughton: Claimed 4A wheelchair titles in 100, 200 and discus.
