I was fascinated to learn: My great-grandfather was on the first ECU football team.
Most inspiring teacher: My sixth- and seventh-grade English teacher, Mrs. Sweat. She was a wonderful teacher and is now a missionary in another country.
A book that impacted my life was: “One Second After” by William R. Forstchen. It is a fiction novel set in the mountains of North Carolina. It depicts what would happen to 21st-century people if technology was taken away from them and their inability to live under those circumstances.
It’s hard to believe that: The Panthers couldn’t pull off a win in the Super Bowl this year.
What epitomizes what a good American should be? An honest, independent, hard-working citizen who appreciates his/her country and the people who fight for it.
Education’s biggest challenge or problem: Teaching students how to actually learn instead of just teaching students how to pass.
My favorite charity is: The YMCA.
