Southwest Wake Athletic all-conference boys lacrosse team, 2016
Southwest Wake Athletic Conference boys lacrosse champion Apex had the most all-conference picks and the player of the year as voted on by league coaches.
The Cougars (17-2, 13-0) had six all-conference selections with senior Jack Hayden (54 goas, 33 assists) earning player of the year. Other picks included Sean Seaver, Tommy DeLuca (33 goals, 9 assists), Andrew Mason, Alex McClure (30 goals, 19 assists) and freshman Preston Lalicker (26 goals).
Middle Creek (16-3, 11-2), winners of SWAC Division B and league runner-up, will not graduate any of its four all-conference selections. Junior Jared Medwar (59 goals, 15 assists) and sophomore Owen Caputo (73 goals, 43 assists) made the first team and freshman Jake Caputo (37 goals, 30 assists) and sophomore A.J. King made the second team.
Holly Springs head coach Doug Greenberg was voted coach of the year. The Golden Hawks (14-5, 9-3*) put Davis Ferguson (49 goals, 16 assists) on the first team. Thomas Farlow (14 goals, 7 assists) and Alex Lucius made the second team.
Green Hope (13-5, 10-3) placed Aidan Callahan (56 goals, 19 assists) and Jack McAulay on the first team. Nolan Paussa (46 goals, 16 assists), Dana Kelly (41 goals, 14 assists) and Tucker Burkinshaw (19 goals, 15 assists) made the second team.
Athens Drive (9-9, 7-6) had first team representatives in Bobby Padden (60 goals, 21 assists) and faceoff specialist Peyton Smith (18 goals, 14 assists).
Panther Creek (6-11, 4-9) midfielder Caleb Cross made the second team.
Pinecrest (5-10, 4-9), Cary (5-10-1, 4-9), Apex Friendship (1-14, 1-11*) and Fuquay-Varina (4-12-1, 1-12) did not have any all-conference players.
*Holly Springs and Apex Friendship did not play each other twice.
