Johnson’s single leads Buies Creek to 3-2 win over Potomac
Spencer Johnson hit a run-scoring single in the seventh inning to give the Buies Creek Astros a 3-2 win over the Potomac Nationals on Sunday.
Jake Rogers scored on the play after he led off the inning with a double.
Nick Hernandez struck Edwin Lora out with a runner on second to end the game for his ninth save of the season.
After Buies Creek scored two runs in the first inning, Potomac tied the score 2-2 after Dan Gamache hit a solo home run in the fourth inning, and Victor Robles scored on a wild pitch in the sixth.
Matt Bower (3-3) got the win in relief while Kyle Schepel (1-3) took the loss in the Carolina League game.
Gamache homered and singled twice for the Nationals.
