Durham Bulls lose lead in 9th, fall 10 innings

Jaff Decker homered with one out in the 10th inning Tuesday night, culminating an Indianapolis comeback and a 3-2 victory over the Durham Bulls.

Decker drilled a 2-2 pitch from ex-teammate Andy Oliver (0-1) over the wall to even the series at a game apiece. Indianapolis (42-25) tied the score with two outs in the ninth on a two-run double by Pedro Florimon against Kirby Yates. Yates had walked two of the first three hitters of the inning.

Everett Teaford was denied his fifth win of the season despite working six shutout innings, permitting five singles and two walks. Teaford stranded all seven baserunners, five in scoring position.

Durham (39-28) scored twice in the third against Chris Volstad. Mayo Acosta doubled in Vince Belnome from first. Acosta later scored on a fielder’s choice by Corey Brown.

The Bulls will close their road trip at 1:35 p.m. Wednesday when Dylan Floro is scheduled to start against Adrian Sampson.
