Blue Rocks 5, Mudcats 0
ZEBULON Despite a previous win and shutout, the Carolina Mudcats ended the series against the Wilmington Blue Rocks with a 5-0 loss Wednesday night.
The game was scoreless until the fifth inning when Cam Gallagher doubled and with Logan Moon’s and Carlos Garcia’s single, it led him to put a score on the board.
Wilmington’s Ryan O’Hearn made the score 2-0 in the sixth as the Mudcats struggled to score. In the eighth, O’Hearn homered with Maurcicio Ramos on base. The Blue Rocks got a final run in the ninth concluding the scoring 5-0.
Dustin Peterson and Jacob Schrader had two hits each for Carolina.
Alec Mills (7-6) took the win for Wilmington. He pitched 6 2/3 innings and had six strikeouts. Blair Walters (5-8) allowed seven hits and two runs during 5 2/3 innings.
Carolina will begin a four game series against Lynchburg Thursday at 7 p.m.
