Murphy's single leads Lynchburg to 2-1 win over Carolina

Taylor Murphy hit a run-scoring single in the second inning, leading the Lynchburg Hillcats to a 2-1 win over the Carolina Mudcats on Sunday. The Hillcats swept the four-game series with the win.

Bobby Bradley scored on the play to give the Hillcats a 1-0 lead after he led off the inning with a double.

After Lynchburg added a run in the third on a single by Anthony Santander, the Mudcats cut into the deficit in the fourth inning when Tanner Murphy hit a solo home run.

Lynchburg left-hander Sean Brady (7-3) picked up a quality start and the win after allowing one run on four hits over six innings. Opposing starter Enderson Franco (5-5) took the tough loss in the Carolina League game after allowing two runs and five hits over five innings. Trevor Frank struck out the side for his seventh save of the season.

Lynchburg improved to 13-5 against Carolina this season.
