Daris’s triple leads Carolina to 5-2 win over Salem
Joseph Daris hit a run-scoring triple in the fifth inning, leading the Carolina Mudcats to a 5-2 win over the Salem Red Sox on Thursday. With the victory, the Mudcats swept the four-game series.
The triple by Daris scored Jose Fernandez to tie the game 2-2.
The Mudcats took the lead for good in the sixth when Isaias Tejeda hit a solo home run.
Starter Ryan Clark (1-10) got the win while Yankory Pimentel (6-4) took the loss in relief in the Carolina League game. Sean McLaughlin retired the side in order for his fourth save of the season.
