Marks’ no-hitter carries Durham to 2-0 win over Syracuse

Justin Marks pitched a no-hitter, leading the Durham Bulls to a 2-0 victory over the Syracuse Chiefs on Saturday.

Marks (3-9) picked up the win after he struck out seven and walked two.

The only score of the game came in the fifth inning when Jake Goebbert and Jaff Decker scored on an error.

A.J. Cole (6-6) went six innings, allowing two runs and four hits to take the tough loss in the International League game. He also struck out six and walked one.

The Chiefs were held scoreless for the ninth time this season, while the Bulls' staff recorded their eighth shutout of the year.

Despite the loss, Syracuse is 4-2 against Durham this season.
