Rodriguez, Salcedo lift Frederick over Carolina 10-3
Aderlin Rodriguez doubled twice and singled, scoring a couple of runs while also driving home two as the Frederick Keys beat the Carolina Mudcats 10-3 on Monday.
Erick Salcedo doubled and singled three times with a couple of runs and two RBIs for Frederick.
Down 1-0 in the third, Carolina tied it up when Keith Curcio hit an RBI double, scoring Erison Mendez.
The Keys grabbed the lead with four runs in the fifth inning, including a single by Cameron Kneeland that scored Wynston Sawyer.
The Keys later added two runs in the sixth and three in the ninth to punctuate the blowout.
Frederick right-hander Lucas Long (5-5) picked up the win after allowing two runs on seven hits over 5 2/3 innings. Opposing starter Caleb Beech (2-3) took the loss in the Carolina League game after a rough outing in which he allowed five runs and nine hits over 4 1/3 innings.
Luis Valenzuela tripled and doubled for the Mudcats.
