Crownover leads Potomac to 2-1 win over Carolina

Matt Crownover allowed just four hits over seven innings, leading the Potomac Nationals over the Carolina Mudcats in a 2-1 win on Sunday.

Neil Holland got Isaias Tejeda to ground out with a runner on first to end the game for his second save of the season.

Crownover (2-4) picked up the win after he struck out four while allowing one run.

Potomac got on the board first with a run in the third inning. After reaching base on a walk, David Masters advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt and then scored on a single by Max Schrock.

The Mudcats tied the game in the fourth inning when Tejeda hit a sacrifice fly, scoring Travis Demeritte.

The Nationals took the lead for good in the seventh when Masters scored on a groundout.

Zack Bird (3-3) allowed one run and got one out in the Carolina League game.
