Sands hits walk-off single in 10th, Charlotte beats Durham 3-2
-- Jerry Sands hit a walk-off single with two outs in the 10th inning, as the Charlotte Knights defeated the Durham Bulls 3-2 on Tuesday.
Leury Garcia scored the game-winning run after he reached base on a walk and advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt.
Durham went up 2-0 after Taylor Motter and Jake Goebbert hit solo home runs in the second and sixth innings. Charlotte answered in the bottom of the inning when Jake Peter hit a two-run single.
Brad Goldberg (3-5) got the win with a scoreless inning in relief while Neil Wagner (1-2) took the loss in the International League game.
