Ely's double leads Myrtle Beach over Carolina in 10 innings
-- Andrew Ely hit an RBI double in the top of the 10th inning to lead the Myrtle Beach Pelicans to a 2-1 win over the Carolina Mudcats on Wednesday.
David Bote scored the go-ahead run on the double after he led off the inning with a single and advanced to second on a walk by Ian Rice.
Carolina had a runner on third in the bottom of the 10th, but Jordan Edgerton flew out to end the game.
Daniel Lewis (4-0) got the win with 1 2/3 innings of scoreless, one-hit relief while Zach Quintana (1-6) took the loss in the Carolina League game.
The Mudcats squandered some scoring chances, leaving 12 runners on base in the loss.
