The Panthers and Dolphins will hold joint practices open to the public at Wofford this summer in the days leading up to their Aug. 22 exhibition in Charlotte.
Carolina and Miami will practice with each other at 8:30 a.m. Aug. 19 and 20 at Wofford’s Gibbs Stadium. It will mark the first time the Panthers have held a joint practice at Wofford with another NFL team since doing so with the Detroit Lions in 2000.
The practices will come on the final two days of camp in Spartanburg. Carolina will begin training camp July 31 and end Aug. 20.
“It’ll give us the opportunity to look at somebody different,” said Panthers coach Ron Rivera, who added they’ve looked at joint practices in previous years.

“We can control the tempo and get really good work out of it, so I’m excited for the guys. I think it’ll be good for both teams. I really like what (coach) Joe Philbin and his staff are doing in Miami. It’s a good thing. It’ll be good for us as an organization.”
The Panthers will have a Lowe’s Kickoff Party starting at 4:30 p.m. July 31, with practice beginning at 6:30. The annual Fan Fest will starting at 5 p.m. Aug. 7 at Bank of America Stadium.
