Carolina added another piece to its secondary on Saturday.

The Panthers selected Florida State safety Jammie Robinson with the 145th overall pick in fifth round of the NFL Draft. Robinson joins Bryce Young, Jonathan Mingo, DJ Johnson and Chandler Zavala as part of the Panthers’ rookie class.

Robinson — listed as 5-foot-11 and 191 pounds — is coming off a two-year career with the Seminoles. The Cordele, Georgia, native spent the first two years of his college career at South Carolina with new Panthers teammate Jaycee Horn.

Robinson produced 318 tackles (15.5 for loss), 16 pass breakups and seven interceptions during his college career.

Robinson has the ability to play both safety and nickel corner. His versatility will help supplement an ever-evolving secondary within Ejiro Evero’s defense.
