Golden Knights' Brayden McNabb faces hearing for incident vs. Ducks

Vegas defenseman Brayden McNabb has a hearing Wednesday with the NHL Department of Player Safety over an interference incident in the Golden Knights' playoff victory over the Anaheim Ducks on Tuesday night.

McNabb, 35, was called for a five-minute major and a game misconduct after a hard, late check of forward Ryan Poehling along the boards after the puck was already past the play at the 9:00 mark of the first period.

Poehling, who has dealt with concussions in the past, had to be helped off the ice with an upper-body injury after the back of his head whiplashed into the glass. He did not return.

The Golden Knights gave up a power-play goal after the penalty but went on to defeat the Ducks 3-2 in overtime in Las Vegas to take a 3-2 lead in the best-of-seven Western Conference second-round series. Game 6 is Thursday in Anaheim.

McNabb had five goals, 12 points and 26 penalty minutes in 63 games for Vegas in the regular season. He has one goal, three points and 19 penalty minutes in 11 playoff games.

For his career, McNabb has 191 points and 567 penalty minutes in 885 regular-season games with the Buffalo Sabres (2011-12, 2013-14), Los Angeles Kings (2024-17) and as an original member of the Golden Knights (2017-present).
